Lake light

Lake Kaniere on the West Coast in the evening surrounded by native bush. Lots of rivers and streams on the Coast have a coppery brown tinge

I really enjoy taking photos and would appreciate your feedback so that I can learn as I go. I particularly enjoy photographing birds animals and landscapes

And this tinge is really because of copper ?

@Calusarus: No its caused by tanin leaching out of the trees surounding the lakes and rivers

This reminds me of when we were kids and we would go to places with streams and we would paddle through the creeks and pick up rocks etc... I haven't done that in SO long... I may have to look into that... great shot too...

Wonderful scene of that shallow wide stream, and the vegetation and diffused light is lovely. Just a small tip if that's ok... ? Myself I would have prefared less foreground, and included the top of the mountain. that's only my view of course, otherwise an excellent shot.

@Observing: Fair enough I think I didn't photo the top of the mountain because I was looking directly into the sun. Thanks for the advice though please keep sending it

a wonderful and peaceful setting! i too, remember hours spent in areas like these... hunting for crayfish, trying to catch pollywogs, butterflies and caterpillars... picking flowers -- a childhood delight! :) wonderful sparkling light on the water! beautiful!

Great shot and well taken. I have to agree with Observing about including the top of the mountain. Cutting it off tends to leave the viewer feeling unbalanced or that something is incomplete.

@Graham Russon: Thanks Graham I always appreciate you advice I think as I said to Observing that I was taking the photo directly into the sun and that is why I cut off the top of it
