The same gorge as the last one a view of the Hokitika river from the walking track. The tree on the left with the drooping leaves is a native rimu. This is the first phot that I have posted that I have Digitally fiddled with (apart from sharping and cropping) I was trying to focus the eye of the viewer on the colour of the water
I really enjoy taking photos and would appreciate your feedback so that I can learn as I go. I particularly enjoy photographing birds animals and landscapes

A nice idea to help focus on the water. I suppose there are two ways to help -- starting out with a strong composition at the time of taking the photo, and/or working with an editing program. It's fun to try both.

Nice effect,I´ve just noticed you use an Olympus sp570uz,I had the 550 and nearly bought the 570 while upgrading but plumped for the Fuji S8000 a very similar camera to the 570..Long live "Super Zooms" I say.(After 30 years of lugging an SLR and lenses around)

@Anthony: Thanks Anthony some of my photo are taken on my Nikon with 12 x optical zoom but when I saw one with 18x optical zoom I couldn't resist. I still would like more zoom power but do know what you mean about lugging around all the equipment and different lenses etc.

The color IS spectacular! I know about the true color of melted glacial water. See my photo from July 29th for a shot of the bay in Seward Alaska. It is also melted water from glaciers. Is yours as cold as Alaska's?

@San G.: I have just had a look at your photo its a similar colour isn't it. I would think that the water is colder in Alaska than in NZ
