Shag Nest 1 (commorant)

This is a spotted shag sitting on its nest. Completely different type of nest to tomorrows shag although they live only a headland apart. This nests in small hollows in a sheer cliff.

I really enjoy taking photos and would appreciate your feedback so that I can learn as I go. I particularly enjoy photographing birds animals and landscapes

@Maxine: Actually the cliff is over the back of the car pack and they have a viewing area that looks down on these nests

I imagine that it is difficult to approach this kind of bird, just for that Bravo. In order to improve your next shot, surely that to decentre your subject will bring one more, imho ;)

@Anthony Lambert: Not that far Anthony actually. There is a viewing platform that looks over the nests I guess the birds are used to the people and know that they can't get any closer

Interesting to see a nest on rocks. The one's I see here are usually in trees. Shows how little I know about our feathered friends.

I've never heard a cormorant referred to as a shag. Very pretty and well captured.
