My PlacePosted by jamesy (christchurch, New Zealand) on 13 December 2008 in Cityscape & Urban. For Anthony's challenge this is a part of my place. My front garden. You can see the garage and the bay window which is part of my front lounge. I am quite proud of my garden this year it is full of colours and different plants the roses are not at their best in this shot as they are between flowering cycles. We have lived in this house for twenty years. It has had many changes and additions to it over this time. It is 82 years old and we are only the 2nd owners. I really enjoy taking photos and would appreciate your feedback so that I can learn as I go. I particularly enjoy photographing birds animals and landscapes

dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaDebbie - it's beautiful! Can't tell you how envious I am of your Inca lilies - they are without doubt one of my favourite flowers, and I just can't seem to make them grow. 13 Dec 2008 6:14am @dobbino: Thanks Rob they just grow like weeds in my garden. If it wasn't for MAF restrictions I would send you some Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomWhat a gorgeous corner, those flowers are terrific, it must be the mild climate that you have. 13 Dec 2008 6:26am @Observing: Thanks Mike We do get some snow in Winter and quite hot at times in summer but looking at all the photos of the snow in the northern hemisphere at the moment I suppose it is a moderate climate San G. from Encino, California, United StatesDear Jamesy, what a beautiful garden! How nice that it's been loved so strongly for so long. I'm so glad Anthony made this challenge ... to bring us all together. No exterior shot on my site, but come visit "Where I live" at: http://sjginsberg.aminus3.com/ 13 Dec 2008 6:47am @San G.: thanks so much its is a great challenge djedfre from schaumburg, United Statesvery pretty! we have those here, too - they just happen to be encased in ice at the moment! 13 Dec 2008 6:50am @djedfre: bit cold there is it??? hehehe @Steve Rice: thanks Steve Dimitrios from ATHENS, Greeceso now we all know, YOU HAVE GREEN FINGURES, well done! 13 Dec 2008 8:56am Shirin Moosavi from Tehran, IranAwesome garden! I can't even transplant properly , sigh... 13 Dec 2008 2:41pm JJ from Jersey City, United StatesWOW what a lovely garden I am quite envious, the colors of the flowers are so beautiful, I completly forgot about this challenge, but renting and having moved so often I am often not sure what my place is, you have lived there for 20 years, since I left home 30 odd years ago the longest I have ever lived in one place is 2 to 3 years 13 Dec 2008 3:11pm Anthony Lambert from Bielefeld, GermanyA lovely display !! I especially enjoy seeing it since all is brown and grey here in the northern hemisphere. 13 Dec 2008 5:22pm Ronnie 2¢ from London, United Kingdomwow, that's some record of ownership there over the 82 years with only the two owners. By now, it must feel like 'home' ! Love those roses. 13 Dec 2008 6:55pm Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesLove it... this is when houses had character and you could tell that 'love' went into them... it reminds me of my nana and pop's house... the type you just want to go to and stay there... love all those flowers... wanna swap... 13 Dec 2008 8:40pm Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaA beautiful garden Jamesy. I can well imagine that you take great pride in it and how wonderful that you are having such beautiful weather when we are so cold in the Northern Hemisphere. 13 Dec 2008 9:30pm Bookfool from Vicksburg, United StatesOoooh, beautiful!! Makes me want to dig in the dirt, but it's the wrong time of year, here. 2 owners in 82 years is pretty remarkable. I think our house has had at least 3 owners and the last set made quite a mess of things. We spent our first year just tearing out wild plants so we could see out the windows. 13 Dec 2008 10:20pm Charles from New York, United StatesBeautiful variety of flowers Debbie. Nice colors. 13 Dec 2008 10:47pm Jeffster from Long Island, United StatesLucky you with your green thumb. You should be quite proud. We have such extreme temps here (either wickedly hot or bitterly cold with strong winds year-round) it's quite a challenge to have a nice garden.
