a closer view of the glacier from the closest point you can go without a guide unless your stupid
I really enjoy taking photos and would appreciate your feedback so that I can learn as I go. I particularly enjoy photographing birds animals and landscapes

Great shot, saw a documentary the other day and have decided one of my bucket list additions is to go up by helicopter, even if they are noisy darned things!

I have seen that kind of glacier, we have not mountains in Finland, rivers and lakes are iced, but nothing like this.
But what about Global Warming, can it be seen in your glacier yet?

@LeenaM: The glaciers on the West Coast are growing so no global warming there. The ones on the East coast however are getting smaller so who knows

What an amazing natural feature..... do you see any ice falling from it...? That must be a cold climate there.

@Observing: thanks Mike it is quite cold but surprisingly only a short distance from the sea. Didn't see any ice falling from it but two unfortunate tourists who ignored safety barriers at fox glacier where killed when some ice fell on them about two weeks after we were there

I lived in Stewart british Columbia and Hyder Alaska...that,s almost and exact copy of one of the glacier out there...beautiful shot...impressive.

Where did I go. I know I came by to see this picture. I must have been distracted by one of those creative creatures roaming my home (children).
