am currently having some computer issues so If I don't answer your comment or write on your blog I apololgise going to get in Geeks on Wheels to look at it and see what is going on.
Although we have had a beautiful spring and it now feels like summer, A couple of weeks ago winter gave us a little hurry up and a reminder not to count our chickens before they were hatched
I really enjoy taking photos and would appreciate your feedback so that I can learn as I go. I particularly enjoy photographing birds animals and landscapes
@Zygène: Merci Zygene
A scene that could only be in New Zealand.Brilliant.

@Anthony Lambert: thanks, but why could it only be NZ I am curious
Splendid contrast Deb, the frozen and the thawed. Great POV!

@Kylie Greenan: thanks very much Kylie
Ok my experience of New zealand comes only from watching all three parts of "the lord of the rings" but the stark contrast from lush green fields and trees and the huge snow covered mountains seems to me to be a trade mark of your islands.correct me if I´m wrong and I´ll haul Frodo out again and have another look !!
16 Oct 2008 6:35am
@Anthony Lambert: Oh I'm a rude old tart. You are quite correct I won't subject to 3.5 hrs of Froddo just to prove a point. I guess when you seen something all the time you think of it as normal and wonder what other people see in it. If you ever feel like travelling to NZ be sure to let me know I know some places that you can stay
Brilliant Debs!! It is a stark reminder that at the moment we can't get too relaxed about the lovely weather cos nature could still throw a cold one at us:-)
Thanks for your support Deb, i hope to get back to normal soon:-))

I could not guess, you have this kind of landscapes there, I have looked maps of course, but they can not tell things like photos do. But now I will go to Google Earth and visit New Zealand, thanks to your photos:)
Have a good day!
16 Oct 2008 11:11am
@LeenaM: thanks Leena New zealand is long and skinny The South Island has a row of mountains up the middle and the North Island has some right in the middle
Brrr..... Great image - At first I thought it was a b&w because of the snow on the hillsides, but then I scrolled down to the warmth of the valley below. You can see anticipation of spring in the fields that are ready for planting.

16 Oct 2008 9:33pm
such a contrast between the fields and the snow coated hills, beautiful capture
not looking forward to the snow ere likely to get this winter, one thing I hate is having to shovel the snow off the footpath and stairs prior to going to work in the morning
16 Oct 2008 11:35pm
@JJ: must be quite something to have to shovel the snow we don't have to do that very often in CHCH maybe once in twenty years. thanks for the comments
Gorgeous shot. I even like the telephone/power wire dividing the scene.
17 Oct 2008 1:07am
